In loving memory of a dear friend. Mahidhara Davangere V (1981 -2021).

Mahidhara passed away on the morning 15 May 2021. He succumbed to the Covid-19 virus after battling it for nearly two weeks in a hospital in Bangalore.

Mahidhara was an enthusiastic and indefatigable member of the IFoA, constantly encouraging and speaking with passion for actuaries to venture into wider fields. His recent initiatives and energies were devoted to banking and data science and he had been a compelling voice in encouraging the IFoA’s incorporation of these two fields into our educational program.

At a personal level, he was always helpful and friendly, and carried his incredible enthusiasm for actuarial science and the profession with him all the time. He was always forward looking and global in outlook, and his business interests extended to Africa, United States, Japan and latterly the UK.

The actuarial community has lost a great friend, advocate and professional.

Our thoughts are with his family and colleagues at the Pramatha Group.
